Hall of Fame Songs List

Hall of Fame Songs List

In this musical post I have decided to post some of my favourite songs which have featured in various Songs posts before, but as there has been 16 editions of Songs, averaging 8 songs a post, that is 128 songs, and some of these songs need a greater spotlight on them. Hence this Hall of Fame Songs List, which I will add to whenever a song really impresses me.

The first 7 songs to be inducted to the Hall of Fame are: Learn to Fly (Foo Fighters), Howl (Gaslight Anthem), All Goes Wrong (Chase and Status), The Wolf (Mumford and Sons), Iron Sky (Paolo Nutini), A Rush of Blood (Coasts) and Young Blood (The Naked and Famous).

Songs XVI

Songs XVI

You may be wondering why I am posting a few posts in quick succession…or not. But I will be in London for the next 2 weeks on a work placement with Penguin Random House! I’ll be doing Marketing and Publicity for Children’s Books. Therefore, I will be focusing on that rather than the blog, make sure to leave some of your blog post links for me to look at when I come back! 🙂

The recent edition of Songs that I have been listening to recently includes: Catherine McGrath, The Shires, The Chainsmokers, Olly Murs, Espen Lind, Askil Holm, Alejandro Fuentes, Kurt Nilsen, Sam Hunt and Matchbox 20.

Catherine McGrath | Let Me Love You (DJ Snake ft. Justin Bieber cover)
One of my favourite artists from YouTube, Catherine has been doing covers for a while now and her talent has not gone unnoticed as she has recently been signed up by Warner Music. Her Let Me Love You cover is absolutely brilliant, and so is her most recent cover of OneRepublic’s Kids.

Songs XV

Songs XV

This edition of Songs features Paolo Nutini, Bastille, Passenger, Zara Larsson and DNCE.

Paolo Nutini | Iron Sky

“Mass Confusion,
Spoon fed to the blind,
Serves now to define,
Our cold society.”

Such a powerful song, and very relevant given the political climate in Britain, regarding the EU referendum, and also in America, with their presidential election.  Continue reading

Songs XI

Songs XI

2016’s first edition of the Songs that I have been listening to includes a variety of different artists and bands across a plethora of musical genres. This edition includes; Taylor Swift, Sigala, Coldplay, Fleur East, Daughtry, Sam Hunt, Catherine McGrath, Against the Current, Chase and Status and Ellie Goulding.

Taylor Swift Acoustic | Wildest Dreams
On September 30, 2015, Taylor Swift celebrated her attendance record-breaking exhibit at the GRAMMY Museum, with an intimate performance at the Clive Davis Theater. One of my favourite songs from the 1989 album, and this acoustic version may even be better than the studio album version. Taylor also performed other songs while at the GRAMMY Museum, my other favourite being Blank Space.

Taylor Swift Tribute

Taylor Swift Tribute

Taylor Swift. Swiftie. T-Swizzle. TayTay. Tay. T-Swiz. Swiftmeister. Queen Tay turns 26 today! Arguably the most famous singer at the moment alongside Adele and Beyonce. Her albums and tours have smashed records worldwide, I have been lucky enough to go to a live gig of her’s (RED Tour, London) and she was amazing! (Side note: Sam Smith was the guest performance that night, before his subsequent meteoric rise, and The Vamps were the supporting act, who have now built a sizeable fanbase.) I hope you all enjoy this tribute to the beautiful, talented and inspirational woman, who seems to do okay at this music thing! 🎶

5 Guinness World Records. 4 sold out tours. 3 albums selling over a million copies each in one week. 2 blue eyes.  1 Taylor Swift. ❤️

Blog Appreciation Post

Blog Appreciation Post (BAP)- Get your baps out!

Recently through various Meet n Greets, Link Parties, Reblogs, Follow for Follows etc, I have come to appreciate the efforts of lots of bloggers who have used their time and posts to promote other blogs and bring the blogging community closer together. I have decided to play my part by creating this BAP, which I hope bloggers will use to share some things about themselves so we can all know each other a bit better, as well as helping out more bloggers. As Christmas is getting closer, there is a bit of a festive end to the post! 🙂

RED Concert

Taylor Swift

RED Concert 2nd February 2014
London, 02 Arena

5 / 5

Taylor played songs from her latest album RED and also her most popular songs throughout her career as well as a terrific duet with BBC Sound 2014 winner, Sam Smith. Her concert was an absolutely fascinating spectacle with an array of costumes, sets, crowd surfing and intimate sharing about the tour and album. She was supported by newly MTV Brand New 2014 winners, The Vamps who played  number 2 hit “Can We Dance” along with new songs that they have only played at the 02 gigs so far.

Her singing, instrument-playing and stage performance was exceptional and well worth it. Taylor Swift is undoubtedly one of the most talented singers out there and I for one will be keeping a close eye for he next planned tour after witnessing first hand how brilliant she is live.

These are videos uploaded by a friend who sat next to me at the concert as my videos’ sound quality was poor.
