This post’s list of songs come from Rick Astley, Michael Buble, The Veronicas, The Lumineers, John Mayer, Kenny Chesney, Pink and Maroon 5. There are some brilliant videos, especially Maroon 5, The Lumineers and The Veronicas videos, be sure to check them out!

Rick Astley | Dance
Better known for his 80’s hit Never Gonna Give You Up. However, his new song Dance, which he performed on Strictly Come Dancing recently is infectious and I love it. I also quite like another track off his new album, Angels on my Side.

Hall of Fame Songs List

Hall of Fame Songs List

In this musical post I have decided to post some of my favourite songs which have featured in various Songs posts before, but as there has been 16 editions of Songs, averaging 8 songs a post, that is 128 songs, and some of these songs need a greater spotlight on them. Hence this Hall of Fame Songs List, which I will add to whenever a song really impresses me.

The first 7 songs to be inducted to the Hall of Fame are: Learn to Fly (Foo Fighters), Howl (Gaslight Anthem), All Goes Wrong (Chase and Status), The Wolf (Mumford and Sons), Iron Sky (Paolo Nutini), A Rush of Blood (Coasts) and Young Blood (The Naked and Famous).

You may be wondering why I am posting a few posts in quick succession…or not. But I will be in London for the next 2 weeks on a work placement with Penguin Random House! I’ll be doing Marketing and Publicity for Children’s Books. Therefore, I will be focusing on that rather than the blog, make sure to leave some of your blog post links for me to look at when I come back! 🙂

The recent edition of Songs that I have been listening to recently includes: Catherine McGrath, The Shires, The Chainsmokers, Olly Murs, Espen Lind, Askil Holm, Alejandro Fuentes, Kurt Nilsen, Sam Hunt and Matchbox 20.

Catherine McGrath | Let Me Love You (DJ Snake ft. Justin Bieber cover)
One of my favourite artists from YouTube, Catherine has been doing covers for a while now and her talent has not gone unnoticed as she has recently been signed up by Warner Music. Her Let Me Love You cover is absolutely brilliant, and so is her most recent cover of OneRepublic’s Kids.

This edition of Songs features Paolo Nutini, Bastille, Passenger, Zara Larsson and DNCE.

Paolo Nutini | Iron Sky

“Mass Confusion,
Spoon fed to the blind,
Serves now to define,
Our cold society.”

Such a powerful song, and very relevant given the political climate in Britain, regarding the EU referendum, and also in America, with their presidential election.  Continue reading

Songs XI

Songs XI

2016’s first edition of the Songs that I have been listening to includes a variety of different artists and bands across a plethora of musical genres. This edition includes; Taylor Swift, Sigala, Coldplay, Fleur East, Daughtry, Sam Hunt, Catherine McGrath, Against the Current, Chase and Status and Ellie Goulding.

Taylor Swift Acoustic | Wildest Dreams
On September 30, 2015, Taylor Swift celebrated her attendance record-breaking exhibit at the GRAMMY Museum, with an intimate performance at the Clive Davis Theater. One of my favourite songs from the 1989 album, and this acoustic version may even be better than the studio album version. Taylor also performed other songs while at the GRAMMY Museum, my other favourite being Blank Space.

Taylor Swift Tribute

Taylor Swift Tribute

Taylor Swift. Swiftie. T-Swizzle. TayTay. Tay. T-Swiz. Swiftmeister. Queen Tay turns 26 today! Arguably the most famous singer at the moment alongside Adele and Beyonce. Her albums and tours have smashed records worldwide, I have been lucky enough to go to a live gig of her’s (RED Tour, London) and she was amazing! (Side note: Sam Smith was the guest performance that night, before his subsequent meteoric rise, and The Vamps were the supporting act, who have now built a sizeable fanbase.) I hope you all enjoy this tribute to the beautiful, talented and inspirational woman, who seems to do okay at this music thing! 🎶

5 Guinness World Records. 4 sold out tours. 3 albums selling over a million copies each in one week. 2 blue eyes.  1 Taylor Swift. ❤️
