22 Jump Street Review

22 Jump Street

Sides have well and truly been split!

22 Jump Street Film

22 Jump Street continues with a very successful formula, Jenko (Channing Tatum) and Schmidt (Jonah Hill) are sent undercover yet again, but this time as college students. Again they have to uncover a drug craze which has led to the death of a student. WHYPHY “Wifi”, allows the student to focus for studying and then the student can then party hard too.

The film is a laugh-a-minute film, and fans of 21 Jump Street will not be disappointed by this, in fact, I enjoyed this film more and during one scene I was doubling over with stomach cramps due to how much I was laughing. That scene, which I won’t spoil for you, is the moment we find out who Schmidt has spent the night with, and Jenko’s ‘reaction’ is simply brilliant and had everyone in the packed cinema in stitches!

Schmidt and Jenko’s friendship is tested as Jenko considers playing football with new friend and jock, Zook. Thus, leaving Schmidt to investigate by himself and he finds himself spending time with Maya, who lived opposite the girl who died from the drug. Both Schmidt and Jenko, find inroads in the investigation by themselves and their separate activities lead to comical results.

The ending of the film is so brilliantly funny and is one of the funniest films I’ve watched since The Hangover. If you have an American taste in comedies then this film will be right up your street. This is a rare situation, as I feel this is a sequel that improves on the original film.
